The Three Tenors - Concert in Rome

There are not many moments in the history of classical music that have influenced pop culture as a true mass phenomenon: the famous first concert of the three tenors José Carreras, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti on July 7, 1990 in Rome is certainly one such rare exception. Now the concert is being released for the first time digitally remastered in the best picture and sound quality on Blu-ray. The highlight of the release, however, is the new documentary film "The Three Tenors - From Caracalla to the World" with current interviews with José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, Zubin Mehta, Pavarotti's widow Nicoletta Mantovani, Lalo Schifrin and many more. Previously unreleased backstage material shows the tenors unvarnished and offers a fascinating insight into what was happening beyond the spotlight in Rome in 1990 and at the continuation in Los Angeles in 1994: rivalries and friendships, the spectacular contract poker and life as an opera star.
