(R)-Evolution

Julian Walder (*2000 in Vienna) is the first prize winner of many international competitions, including the NYIAA – New York International Artists Association Violin Competition. He is the Grand Prix winner in all categories at the Grumiaux Competition in Belgium and was awarded, among others, 3rd prize in 2023 at the International Henri Marteau Violin Competition in Germany. Johann Sebastian Bach's "Chaconne" as a source of inspiration for many centuries is the centerpiece of this album. There were many currents and influences surrounding this fundamental work of the Baroque. The title of the album "(R)-Evolution" contains the word 'Evolution': In this context, this means that by adopting and using Bach's compositional techniques, whose structures have continued to live on in many works over the centuries. The "Revolution", on the other hand, refers to the conscious transformation of his defining style by other composers over time.
