It is one of the best-known television series in the world and was so successful that Leonard Bernstein's one-time music-educational concept also became a bestseller in book form: We are talking, of course, about the TV series Young People's Concerts, which became known in Germany under the title Konzert für junge Leute. For the first time, on the occasion of Leonard Bernstein's birth anniversary, the entire series is now being released on DVD and Blu-ray in three boxes, each containing 7 DVDs or 4 Blu-ray discs, and for the first time, fully with German subtitles! It is a truly mammoth release project for the Bernstein year. In the legendary television series, Leonard Bernstein explains both music history and music theory in easily understandable language and with a nonchalant tone to an enthusiastic live audience of children and young people. The show is still considered a reference for youth-oriented music education today, and Bernstein's obviously passionate presentation has lost none of its magnificent charm to this day.
