Description

Capriccio’s fourth and final anniversary box set, celebrating the label’s 40th birthday, is dedicated to the outstanding vocal soloists in the Capriccio catalogue. From countertenor stalwart Jochen Kowalski to international stars Peter Schreier, Hermann Prey, Alfredo Kraus, Lucia Aliberti and Cecilia Bartoli, who actually made their recording debut on Capriccio – with their first (and probably their only) Wagnerian role. As a final flourish, there are excerpts featuring great voices (Gwyneth Jones, Anne Schwanewilms, Bo Skovhus) from rare operas for which Capriccio has become known.
