Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake

Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake is probably an undisputed contender for the title of "the world's most famous ballet". Vladimir Jurowski, chief conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the Russian State Academy – once the ensemble of the legendary Evgeny Svetlanov – has devoted himself particularly to Tchaikovsky's ballets in recent years. After Jurowski's new recording of Sleeping Beauty with the ICA Classics label was released last year, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake now follows, presented in the superb sound of the Dutch label Pentatone.
