Rozsa: Overture to a Symphonic Concert / Hungarian Serenade / Tripartite

The Hungarian Miklós Rózsa feared his whole life that his fame as a Hollywood composer would overshadow his reputation as a "classical" composer. He was right. The two worlds were simply, at least in the understanding of his generation of composers, almost irreconcilable. The three orchestral works presented here are a wonderful introduction to his almost unknown concert works, which of course cannot deny their affinity with the monumental sound language of film music.
