Great Spanish Pianists of the 20th Century (Live)

In 1975, coinciding with the inauguration of its new headquarters in Madrid, the Juan March Foundation launched the moderated concert series “Recitales para Jóvenes” (“Concerts for Young People”), in which leading Spanish artists performed concert programs for secondary school students. For the first edition of the series, five outstanding Spanish pianists—themselves former recipients of foundation scholarships—took on the task of guiding the young people on a journey through the history of the piano in Europe, from Mozart to Debussy. The repertoire of the original LP, titled “Concerts for Young People. Romantic Piano Concert,” released in 1976, contains a valuable sonic record of pianistic creation in Spain, which is now available again following careful remastering.
