The concerts summarized here (from the Advent weeks of 2017 and 2018) featuring the award-winning SWR Vokalensemble were recorded in the Gaisburg Church, which is considered one of the most beautiful churches in Stuttgart. The first concert, "Stille Nacht," is dedicated to the (primarily) German tradition that began with Michael Praetorius and was later taken up by the Romantics Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Gustav Mahler. The second concert, "Christmas Carols," brings together (primarily) Christmas carols from the British Isles.
