The Elastic Heart of Youth

The works included here by Jean Sibelius, Leoš Janáček, Augusta Gross, Claude Debussy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Domenico Scarlatti, and Missy Mazzoli, which originate from diverse musical traditions—Baroque, Classical, Nordic, Slavic, French, and contemporary music—are connected by a vibrant, elastic heart: by a deep spirit of vitality that persists through tension and release, stillness and motion, loss and restoration. Behind their varied voices beats a shared pulse that they share with nature.
