So Poetic!

After exploring lesser-known works for ténor de grâce in the multi-award-winning album “So Romantique!” (ALPHA924), the tenor Cyrille Dubois focuses on a unique genre in this new recording: the French mélodie with orchestra. “Because I am very interested in the chamber music dimension of the music, I was naturally drawn to this form, which is rarely featured on programs today. Attention to timbre is crucial here, especially when interpreting such short pieces—an exercise that is central to my approach as a mélodiste,” says Dubois. “This program, assembled by the researchers and editors of Palazzetto Bru Zane, allows us to rediscover lost treasures of the French heritage: refinement, the art of suggestion, delicacy, expressiveness—everything here is so poetic!”
