Rihm: Two Other Movements / Abkehr / Schattenstück

This album from the SWRmusic label already contains the seventh installment in what has so far probably been the most ambitious recording project centered on the works of the German composer Wolfgang Rihm. Rihm, whose musical modernism is as contemporary as it is rooted in expressionism and romanticism, is among the most performed and listened to of what our present has to offer. Under the baton of Sir Roger Norrington, the SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra presents two world premiere recordings on this album, among others.
