Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 20 + 22

The "Next Generation Mozart Soloists" series is dedicated to the younger generation of performers and has quickly developed into a cult series. In the penultimate, sixteenth installment of this collection, produced in collaboration with the Orpheum Foundation, a highly acclaimed soloist, French pianist Marie-Ange Nguci, presents two of Mozart's most significant concertos under the baton of Howard Griffiths: his first concerto composed in a minor key, No. 20 in D minor, K. 466, dated February 10, 1785, which was performed to great acclaim by Mozart himself the very next day on a pedal piano played much like an organ, and the Concerto No. 22 in E-flat major, K. 482, which was composed at the end of the same year, 1785.
