Anastasia is the latest audiovisual production of a ballet featuring the currently most internationally renowned and popular prima ballerina: Natalia Osipova. Kenneth Macmillan uses the ballet to tell the story of the historical figure Anna Anderson. Born in West Prussia, the woman claimed to be the Tsarevna Anastasia Romanova from the early 1920s until her death. It was never established whether she was an impostor or, as the ballet suggests, suffered from delusions caused by schizophrenia. Conclusion: A thrilling, captivating piece of dance set to fantastic music by Martin? and Tchaikovsky!
