Italian!

What happens when the renowned brass players of the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics come together? The answer: The Philharmonic Brass. The ensemble, which made its debut at the Musikverein in Vienna in April 2023, will reunite for recordings, tours, and educational work. The group includes some of the most renowned brass players from Berlin and Vienna and their friends, including Sarah Willis on horn and Paul Halwax on tuba. Their debut album, "Overture!", was conducted by Tugan Sokhiev, and now it is time for the follow-up album: "Italiana!" Under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti, it features virtuosic arrangements of some of the most famous musical works, including Giuseppe Verdi's "Sinfonia di Nabucco", Gioachino Rossini's "Guillaume Tell - Overture" and many more. The musicians come from different backgrounds and have received different training, but they are united by a common goal: to achieve a harmonious understanding. The performances feature a variety of instruments, including horns, trumpets, tubas, and percussion. Each part and each instrument group contributes to a unified whole that reflects how society should function. This is the essence of music, harmony, and society.
