On this new b-records production, conductor Léo Warynski and the vocal ensemble Les Métaboles present two little-known choral works by two composers who lived in completely different centuries. The visually luminous work "Another Look at Harmony - Part IV" by Philip Glass is juxtaposed with a canon for 16 voices by the obscure Baroque master Andrea Basili (1705-1775). This piece, which had never been performed before, harmonizes with the minimalism of Philip Glass through its near-perfect cyclical music, which rotates almost magically and seems unable to stop.
