The ever-curious musicians of the Voce Quartet were once again in search of new horizons and fell in love with the music of this Latin American country during their concert tours of Argentina. In Buenos Aires and Rosario, they regularly visited traditional folk music and dance venues known as peñas and milongas, and took part in exciting sessions with the renowned Dino Saluzzi... Finally, it was decided to ask composers Fernando Fiszbein, Gabriel Sivak, and Jean-Baptiste Henry to write music and arrangements for the Voce Quartet. They perform these pieces together with the magnificent Argentine guitarist Pablo Márquez and Jean-Baptiste Henry on the bandoneon. The colorful program includes tangos, as well as zamba, chacarera, cueca, baguala, and a homage to Piazzolla (Four for Tango for string quartet) and Alberto Ginastera, whose first string quartet and sonata for guitar can be heard here.
