Debussy: Piano Music Vol. 1

With his recording of Charles Koechlin's piano works, which was also released by Hänssler Classic, the pianist Michael Korstik has already delighted and amazed the musical establishment with his extraordinary musical sensitivity. As "musikansich" put it: "What seems easy is often so difficult, and yet one must not notice it. Michael Korstick has now succeeded twice as well in this technical and interpretive feat that one must become addicted to these mysterious, floating sound worlds." (musikansich about 93,220, Koechlin, Piano Works). The present CD opens the four-disc series containing all the piano works of Claude Debussy and features an exciting program of well-known and lesser-known works by the Impressionist, as well as world-premiere recordings.
