Chopin: Piano Works [Chopin Now]

Håkon Austbø has been active internationally as a concert pianist for 50 years. He did not live in his home country of Norway for 40 years, only returning 10 years ago. Since then, his playing has become even more refined, even more emotionally intense, and has changed in a way that is often highly regarded and not infrequently revered as a mature style among great pianists. Austbø's credo of always looking at even supposedly familiar works with fresh eyes is expressed nowhere more impressively than in his new Chopin album, which reveals a pianist who devotes himself to the composer's piano works with impressive intimacy and equally impressive eccentricity. An uncomfortable Chopin, that is, one we need!
