Brahms/Berg: Violin Concertos

On his new album, Christian Tetzlaff, one of the greatest violinists of his generation, presents interpretations of the deeply dramatic and lyrical concertos by Johannes Brahms and Alban Berg. Both concertos have been part of his deeply ingrained core repertoire since early in his career. Together with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under the baton of Robin Ticciati, he explores the depths of fundamental "existential human conditions" in the two concertos, in which the "enormous contrast between ecstasy and utter loneliness" is highlighted (as Tetzlaff puts it in the booklet).
