The BR-KLASSIK Bach Project was a contribution by the BR to "Luther 2017 – 500 Years of the Reformation", performed by the Chorus of the German Broadcasting Corporation under the direction of Peter Dijkstra, as well as by the ensembles Concerto Köln and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. The Bach Project, which began in 2010 with the Chorus of the German Broadcasting Corporation under the direction of Peter Dijkstra, culminated in the complete recording of the Mass in B minor, which was published here for the first time. It now includes Bach's four masterpieces – the three "Protestant Oratorios" as well as the "Great Catholic Mass" – in outstanding artistic quality, with renowned vocal soloists and accompanied by top-tier ensembles of the historically informed performance practice.
