Paganini, Niccolò
Niccolò Paganini was born in Genoa in 1782 and died in Nice in 1840. Niccolò Paganini was an Italian violinist. He was the most famous violin virtuoso of his time and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique. His 24 Caprices for solo violin Op. 1 are among his best-known compositions and served as inspiration for many prominent composers. In 1805, he entered the service of Napoleon’s sister Elisa Bonaparte, who ruled over Lucca at the time, where Paganini was the first violinist. His distinctive, expressive, and imaginative music is still frequently performed today. The independent, expressive, imaginative, influential, and enduring musical legacy lives on.
