Wood Works

Folk music is music that has become a matter of justice; it belongs to everyone, everywhere. Like rivers, melodies spread from region to region, just like water. Whenever an old fiddler stumbled upon a lovely tune, he played it and made it his own before passing it on. Folk music belongs to everyone and no one; it is always only borrowed for a while. For this CD, the “Danish String Quartet” has borrowed and newly arranged some of its favorite melodies from Nordic folklore, letting them now flow through the wood of the instruments. The result is deeply joyful, timeless, moving, and musically so superb that the CD has already been named “CD of the Month” by BR-Klassik!
