Wagner: Der Ring des Nibelungen (Deutsche Oper Berlin, 2021)

The tetralogy "Der Ring des Nibelungen" deals with the constellation of love and power in a mythological landscape, in which unrestricted strength is attained through possession of the Ring. The cycle is ultimately a monumental work based on the model of Greek drama. The award-winning director Stefan Herheim brought his innovative, visually groundbreaking new production to the stage of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. The most important roles are internationally excellently cast, including Nina Stemme, Elisabeth Teige, Clay Hilley and Brandon Jovanovich. Sir Donald Runnicles took over the musical direction: a much-discussed and to-be-discussed Ring.
