Tchaikovsky - Symphonies Nos. 4 - 6

This box set brings together the previously released video recordings of Tchaikovsky’s symphonies 4, 5, and 6 with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig conducted by Andris Nelsons, recorded in 2018 and 2019. The three great symphonies are complemented by works by Mozart (Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550), Mussorgsky (“Dawn on the Moscow River” from “Khovanshchina”, orch. by D. Shostakovich), Shostakovich (Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, op. 77, soloist: Baiba Skride), and Weinberg (Trumpet Concerto in B-flat major, op. 94, soloist: Håkan Hardenberger). These are all musical highlights that impressively demonstrate the ‘Russian soul’ of the Gewandhausorchester.
