Teike: Marches Vol. 3

Carl Teike, known as the composer of one of the world's most significant marches, "Alte Kameraden" (Old Comrades), created a body of work that has enriched the German concert march repertoire. His compositions bring both variety and charisma to this genre, as they combine thematic creativity with clear structure and tonal richness. For the 43rd anniversary of his death, a march from 1918 was rediscovered and christened "Neue Kameraden" (New Comrades), and "Sorgenbrecher" (Trouble-Breaker) is Teike’s homage to his contemporary, the admired composer Paul Lincke. This is the final installment of the three-part series. Alexander Hanson began his musical career at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied trumpet. He received his training as a conductor at the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where he studied under Leif Segerstam and graduated with distinction in 2004. Hanson is a regular guest conductor with most of Scandinavia's leading orchestras. In recent years, he has led various European orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Essen Philharmonic. His discography includes recordings with ensembles such as the symphony orchestras of Gothenburg, Norrköping, Malmö, and Gävle. Since 2018, Hanson has been the music director of the Royal Swedish Navy Band.
