Talbot: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Royal Ballet 2024)

From a mysterious Cheshire Cat and a tap-dancing tea party to frogs serving as footmen and unknown magic potions that make people tiny – this strange and wonderful world is full of surprises and eccentricities. You never know what you’ll find when you fall down the rabbit hole... Christopher Wheeldon’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” took the stage in 2011 with an explosion of colour, stage magic and imaginative, sophisticated choreography. Joby Talbot’s music combines contemporary soundscapes with rousing melodies reminiscent of 19th-century ballet music. Bob Crowley’s imaginative, breathtaking sets use everything from puppetry to projections to bring Wonderland wonderfully to life. The result showcases the Royal Ballet at its best, combining world-class dance with enchanting family entertainment and brilliant music and design.
