Scriabin - The Piano Sonatas Nos. 1-10

Alexander Scriabin's sonatas, often described as 'mysterious and lovely,' offer an unparalleled canvas for personal and intimate expression. They represent the core work of the composer, who transformed this genre like few others and imbued it with new life. The nuanced performances of Chinese pianist Yunjie Chen bring all ten sonatas to life, allowing listeners to explore the deep emotional currents and profound philosophical questions embedded in the music. His thoughtful interpretations highlight the technical brilliance and emotional depth of Scriabin's compositions, offering a fresh perspective on these rarely played masterpieces. Yunjie Chen won the first prize at the China National Piano Competition at the age of twelve and has since received numerous awards.
