Sinding: The Symphonies

Almost every professional or amateur pianist knows his most famous piano piece, "Spring Rushing". However, it seems that today it is almost forgotten that the Norwegian Christian Sinding brought far more creative, inventive masterpieces into the musical world. Not only did he always stand in the shadow of his compatriot Edvard Grieg during his time. Studying in Leipzig and spending almost his entire life creating in Germany, his music was entirely in the sign of the harmoniously newly blooming Romanticism of a Richard Wagner or Franz Liszt. This is shown by the present recording in which the German conductor Karl-Heinz Steffens with his Norrköping Symphony Orchestra illuminates the four very different scores with powerful virtuosity.
