Selection

With "Selection," the trio X of Sweden presents a collection of pieces from their previous releases on vinyl. Since 2002, Lennart Simonsson (piano), Per V. Johansson (double bass), and Joakim Ekberg (drums) have been blending jazz with influences from folk, classical, and improvised music, establishing themselves as one of Sweden's most prominent piano trios.

The album combines original compositions by the three musicians with arrangements of Swedish folk music as well as works by Wilhelm Peterson-Berger, Carl Michael Bellman, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Hugo Alfvén, offering a representative cross-section of the ensemble's work.
