Schubert: Symphony in B minor / Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1

Celebrated by the press as an evening of superlatives, Martha Argerich—arguably the greatest living pianist—joins Daniel Barenboim and his West-Eastern Divan Orchestra for an unforgettable interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s famous Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23. Argerich's playing remains astonishingly virtuosic and full of vitality, uncompromising, alternating between breakneck passages and delicate tones. The press headlined: "Martha Argerich is and remains unique," and the *Salzburger Nachrichten* summarized: "Martha Argerich, Daniel Barenboim, and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra create an exceptional atmosphere in the Festspielhaus." This memorable concert evening was complemented by a stirring performance of Schubert’s Symphony in B minor, "Unfinished," and his enchanting Rondo in A major, D 951 for piano four hands, played dreamily by Barenboim and Argerich.
