Description

Pierre Dumoussaud conducts a "dream orchestra" made up of chamber musicians who regularly perform at the Deauville Easter Festival (Festival de Pâques). The program features an unusual two-part work by Schoenberg: the two "Chamber Symphonies," which are as detailed as they are moving, reflecting the composer's inner struggles and experiences at the beginning of the 20th century. In an arrangement for string orchestra, Anton Webern's—a student of Schoenberg—"Langsamer Satz" complements the program, serving as a counterpoint with all its romantic passion.
