Rønsholdt: Aftermath

The solo project "Aftermath" by composer Niels Rønsholdt (born 1978) embarks on a journey along American highways, observing cities and landscapes in decay and reflecting on a fractured modern society. The classic road-trip dream of freedom transforms into confused loneliness and regret, yet delicate glimmers of hope for spring and new generations emerge. For "Aftermath," Niels Rønsholdt draws inspiration from the Americana and singer-songwriter tradition. Trained as a classical composer, he is constantly working to challenge the boundaries of genres: 'I see "Aftermath" as a natural continuation of my work with what I call "method composition." I describe what I encounter in the language of the place itself,' he explains. "Aftermath" is inspired by impressions such as the first signs of spring in Brooklyn, a shabby motel in Memphis, and the remnants of Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans. This exclusive vinyl edition contains 11 songs but includes an MP3 download of the entire album (14 tracks in total).
