Rachmaninoff: Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3

In the 1970s, the "Elite Recordings" label was synonymous with the "lost art" of recording engineering from the golden age of the record. Sound engineer Marc Aubort and producer Joanna Nickrenz remained true to the old-fashioned but effective art of simple microphone placement, producing albums with a warm, analog sound that has been cherished by audiophiles worldwide. This second round of reissues features Leonard Slatkin's legendary recordings of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 3 with Abbey Simon as soloist, as well as Stanisław Skrowaczewski's recordings of Beethoven's overtures and incidental music with the brilliant Minnesota Orchestra.
