Description

Every summer, thousands of music lovers are drawn to Verona for the opera season at the ancient Roman arena. Nearly 22,000 spectators regularly fill the amphitheater to enjoy the performances. In 2022, the Arena di Verona honored Italian director and filmmaker Franco Zeffirelli and his legendary production of Turandot. His magnificent film production depicts imperial China with impressive sets and scenes, enriched by the sumptuous costumes of Oscar-winning Japanese costume designer Emi Wada. Everything contributes to highlighting the atmosphere of the drama surrounding the riddles Turandot poses to her admirers—so that life itself is in danger, and the answer is love, which melts the heroine's icy heart. Marco Armiliato conducts the orchestra of the Arena di Verona.
