Prokofiev: Piano Sonatas Nos. 2, 4 + 8 [Time and Gravity]

With her debut album "Time and Gravity," Georgian pianist Irma Gigani explores Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Sonatas No. 2, No. 4, and No. 8. For the artist, time and gravity represent symbols of human existence: time as an unstoppable flow between memory, hope, and the present; gravity as an invisible force of attraction and energy. In Prokofiev's multi-layered musical language, she finds the ideal space to trace these ideas—between personal expression and the great themes of humanity, between freedom and constraint, love and pain, beauty and the abyss.

Born in Tbilisi in 1996, Irma Gigani is among the most remarkable pianists of her generation. As a child, she already won international competitions and performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras in Europe and Israel. Concert engagements have taken her to France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Romania, among others. She has performed at the Vienna Musikverein, the Salle Cortot in Paris, as well as (with Bach's Goldberg Variations) at the Konzerthaus Berlin, in Vatican City in Rome, and many more.
