With the revival of the oratorio "Il Mosè conduttor del popolo ebreo" (1685) for five voices, trumpet and strings, the Italian label Tactus is simultaneously celebrating the 350th anniversary of Giacomo Antonio Perti. The aria compositions of the versatile musician and composer require great virtuosity from the singers, who are absolutely convincing in their interpretation, and are performed by the ensemble Les Nations, which includes some of the finest Italian specialists in baroque vocal music. By the way, the trumpet has an unusual presence in Perti's music, as this particular instrument was highly valued in Bologna at the time.
