Pärt: Stabat Mater

Despite or perhaps because of the radical reduction of its expressive means, Arvo Pärt's music demands the greatest care in execution from its performers – realized here in an exemplary manner by the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester under the direction of Ivan Repušić. The "Stabat Mater," impressive in its vocal nuances, is one of Pärt's most important vocal works. On this album, it is complemented by several key instrumental works by Pärt, including his seminal work "Fratres."
