Pade: All Electronic Works 1955-2012

This special edition in the form of a book with an accompanying CD presents the complete EMP series by Dacapo Records featuring the electronic music of Else Marie Pade. The series offers a new perspective on Pade's music and contains previously unreleased works, including tape recordings, compositions from her time at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, and newly digitized versions of pioneering works. The book contains an extensive collection of texts about her electronic works with QR codes linking to the corresponding digital albums in the EMP series by Dacapo Records, as well as a CD with five selected electronic works. Else Marie Pade (1924–2016) is undoubtedly considered Denmark's most significant pioneer in the field of electronic music and musique concrète, both in terms of the quality and quantity of her output. The book contains essays and a biography by researcher Jonas Olesen in Danish and English, as well as a foreword by Else Marie Pade's publisher Edition S. The book marks the culmination of Dacapo Records' long-standing work in publishing and reissuing new digitized versions of all of Pade's electronic works, including previously unreleased compositions, in the digital EMP series. This collection offers a great insight into the groundbreaking work of Else Marie Pade and is the result of extensive research into scores, tape recordings, and diary notes from the composer's private archive, making the collection almost complete, although further electronic works may still emerge. The works presented in the book include both purely musical works, background music, and illustrative sounds for fairy tales and radio plays, as well as remixes created in collaboration with other artists.
