Orchestral Works [Glöden]

The Skallsjö Sommarorkester was founded out of a shared love of music and a firm belief in the universal power of music. The musicians believe that music builds bridges in a unique way and brings people closer together. The orchestra questions traditional genre boundaries and believes that people and cultures are brought together when sounds are taken out of their familiar context – classical fusion. The collaboration with the folk duo Vågspel (Alice Klint & Kristin Kennemark) goes back a long way. The two left the orchestra in 2014, and everyone decided to continue working together. This suite was born out of that collaboration. The music was composed by Alice Klint and wonderfully arranged by the orchestra's artistic director and concertmaster, Carl Vallin. The world premiere took place at the Evolution Music Festival 2023.
