One Night in Karlsruhe

Michel Petrucciani wanted to condense his music, to release energies under tension that were waiting to be discharged. For this, bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Roy Haynes were the ideal partners. The former, Peacock, had been socialized in post-bop and free jazz and later perfected his trio playing as a partner to Bill Evans, among others; the latter, Haynes, had personally witnessed the birth of bebop and had been one of the leading authorities in his field for decades. Together, they formed a perfect piano trio on a memorable night, July 7, 1988, in Karlsruhe: timeless, flawless, limitless. This memorable recording is now finally available on vinyl – a dream for all jazz aficionados.
