Neset: Who we are

Saxophonist Marius Neset and pianist Leif Ove Andsnes, both renowned musicians in the fields of classical music and jazz, have combined their distinct musical approaches on their album "Who We Are." Although they hail from different genres and employ different stylistic models, many similarities emerge in their musical perceptions and goals. Their collaboration on Neset's compositions leads to inspired and communicative music, characterized by control and stillness, which can be described as organic and original. Flutist Ingrid Søfteland Neset and cellist Louisa Tuck accompany them on this album. Ingrid Søfteland Neset was formerly the solo flutist of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and frequently collaborates with Marius Neset. Louisa Tuck is originally from Great Britain and now lives in Oslo. Together, these musicians form an outstanding community that calls into question the importance of genres and fusions in their music.
