Mozart: Violin Concertos

The young violinist Chloe Chua, who is receiving great attention worldwide, returns to PENTATONE with all of Mozart's violin concertos - a project that began when she was just 15 years old. The album also contains Mozart's Rondo in B-flat major, K. 269 and Rondo in C major, K. 373, as well as the Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra in E-flat major, K. 364. In the latter, the outstanding young Chinese violist Ziyu He also performs, who won the Yehudi Menuhin Competition in 2016 at the age of only 16. In this performance, he shows his remarkable skill alongside Chloe, who herself is a former winner of the same prestigious competition. The soloists are accompanied by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Hans Graf, who has artistically supported Chloe Chua for many years. For Chloe, Mozart's music holds a special place in her heart, and she has accepted the challenge of following in the footsteps of so many legendary violinists. In these refined and fresh interpretations, her deep connection with the music that Mozart wrote at such a young age is unmistakable. Even without a trained ear, one can appreciate her extraordinary technique, elegance and her effort to capture the vitality of these beloved works. This album continues Chloe's exclusive collaboration with PENTATONE and complements the already released and highly acclaimed albums Butterfly Lovers & Paganini (2024) and Vivaldi's Four Seasons as well as Locatelli's L'Arpeggiata (2023).
