Mozart: Clarinet Concerto / Quintet

Vladimir and Dimitri Ashkenazy – an extraordinary father-son relationship. Two extraordinarily beautiful works, performed by two extraordinary musicians - that is what lies behind the new paladino release: "I consider it the best thing I have ever written", Mozart told his father on April 10, 1784, after the premiere of his E-flat quintet. The listener will probably rarely have such a clear opinion. Walter Kläy, for example, writes about the clarinet concerto: "It belongs to the most beautiful things he has ever produced and is of a perfection that cannot be analytically grasped."
