Mozart: The Abduction from the Seraglio (Festival Opera, Glyndebourne 2015, Directed by: Roussillon)

Mozart's Singspiel Die Entführung aus dem Serail is one of the most famous operas in music history. With Robin Ticciati, one of the currently "hottest" conductors in the orchestra pit, is conducting this Glyndebourne performance. The top-tier cast includes, among others, Tobias Kehrer as Osmin, Sally Matthews as Konstanze, and Edgaras Montvidas as Belmonte. However, the real sensation turned out to be David Vicars' production, which received international acclaim. The British trade magazine "WhatsOn Stage" exclaimed: "How should Mozart be staged today? Come and see!" Other opera media also resorted to unusual superlatives in view of this successful stage production. This makes this performance one of the opera highlights of the year already and represents one of the most important opera releases on DVD and Blu-ray.
