Description

There is a new artist in the vibrant East African-Kenyan music scene named Papillon. He not only writes all his music (in several languages) himself, but also designs and creates his own musical instruments. Papillon is one of the most creative musicians in recent times to work with African musical instruments, redesigning and combining them to give them a new sound for a new musical experience. "Moyo", the title of the album, means "heart" in Swahili and "life" or "spirit" in Mbeere. The music on this album is inspired by the singing of birds in the morning, the roaring of lions in the savanna, and the cries of monkeys in the mountains: it speaks of Mother Nature. Papillon, with his soaring voice and his compelling melodies, paired with a wealth of African instruments, many of which come from his own workshop, is a musical force to be reckoned with.
