Mae da Lua

Kalibé describes a musical world in which elements from different cultures and traditional instruments from Africa, South America, Europe, and the Middle East come together in a true melting pot of performance by two multi-talented artists. Matteo Crugnola plays guitar, cavaquinho, kalimba, sitar, bass, and oud, while the heart and voice of the album Mãe da Lua is a Brazilian poet, singer, and political activist who works to preserve the endangered indigenous peoples of the Amazon. With her deep and intense voice (and contributions on flute and ngoni) and her love for the Amazon region, she sings about the need to preserve the environment, the meaning of existence, and the importance of universal love.
