Orlande de Lassus, perhaps better known in Germany by the name Orlando di Lasso, is unquestionably one of the most important composers of the Renaissance. His sacred music is among the finest of the 16th century. His Requiem a 5 is an early example of the most masterful polyphony and is heard here for the first time (according to the latest findings in music research) with trombone accompaniment.
