Description

Ingrid Andsnes caused quite a stir in the classical music scene last year with her original debut album Diabelli 33+1, in which she combined Beethoven's Diabelli Variations with new music. Now the young Norwegian is back as "reinforcement" for double bassist Dan Styffe. She delights with a completely unconventional album of solo-virtuoso music for double bass by Witold Lutosławski, Aulis Sallinen, Ingvar Lindholm and Arne Nordheim. Just as the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for Per Norgård has shown that we should focus more on Scandinavian music, this is the optimal album for "further education".
