Description

"Music for Children" plays an important role in the artistic work of Miloslav Kabeláč. The composer dedicated himself to this genre particularly in the early period following the communist coup of 1948: "I consider composing for children a 'touchstone' not only for all creative abilities, but also for the human qualities of the composer. That is why I take this work as seriously and consider it as important as all others." In his music, Kabeláč creates strong atmospheric images with a great deal of playful sensitivity for the, in parts, highly onomatopoeic language. Kabeláč repeatedly quoted motifs and melodies from these children's works in his larger symphonic compositions.
