Description

Hélène Grimaud at an unforgettable evening at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie with the Camerata Salzburg under Giovanni Guzzo: Pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Robert Schumann in minor keys were selected, which pair perfectly with the melancholic work “The Messenger” by the Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov. Grimaud appreciates Mozart’s few minor works “because they offer a glimpse behind the mask of cheerfulness worn by many of his most famous pieces.” Concertmaster Guzzo, his Camerata Salzburg, and Grimaud are a close-knit team that has performed together many times before.
